FONDACCIO-CASALE MARCELLO

FONDACCIO-CASALE MARCELLO
A zone to the south of Lake Bolsena where a series of finds have been discovered dating from the Early Bronze Age, the early Iron Age, and the Archaic period, such as to suggest the presence of reasonably important sites in the area. One key site is a temple below the Cornos uplands dating as early as the sixth century BC and more clearly from the fourth to the first centuries BC. This sanctuary may lie on the boundary between the territories of Orvieto and Tarquinia.
