TRACCHI, Alvaro
   An amateur archaeologist of considerable significance in the immediate postwar period. He was from the Arno River area of northeast Etruria and undertook some of the earliest surveys of Etruscan and later settlement in the region, and, furthermore, published the archaeological evidence to a high standard.
