CONNECTIVITY

CONNECTIVITY
Connectivity is a theme currently under investigation by ancient historians and archaeologists in the Mediterranean looking to establish both the quantititative and qualititative analysis of connections in the ancient world. It is a study of relative intensity relating directly to the empirical study of trade and shipwrecks, as well as to the importance of interaction in postcolonial theory and investigating the consequences of such contact. These contacts were traditionally interpreted in terms of Hellenization, but are now understood in terms of the biographies of entangled objects and hybridity, granting power and value to the Etruscans themselves.
