JENKINS, Thomas
(1722–1798)
   The British art dealer, painter, and banker who was the first Briton to investigate an Etruscan city. His most detailed investigation was of Tarquinia in 1761, where he recorded inscriptions and paintings and reported the results to the Society of Antiquaries of London.
